How to prepare documents before asking for AI-assisted help
AI-assisted help can make document review faster, but preparation matters. A cleaner input reduces privacy risk, lowers review time, and usually produces a better result.
Remove what is not needed
Before sharing a document, remove passwords, credentials, private client records, health information, financial records, and anything unrelated to the task. If sensitive material is necessary, agree handling terms before sending it.
Separate facts from questions
Put your goal at the top: what do you want improved, who is the audience, what must stay unchanged, and what deadline matters? AI-assisted review works better when the task is clear.
Keep a source copy
Save the original document before sending or editing. Keep track of what changed, especially if the document will be used with clients, funders, staff, or regulators.
Review before relying
AI-assisted output should be checked by a human before external use. Look for incorrect claims, missing context, tone problems, privacy issues, and accidental changes to meaning.
QSS can help clarify scope, remove unnecessary risk, and produce a cleaner version for review.
